Banyan Stuart offers three different levels of care within our 30 bed facility. Each client that comes through our door receives a truly customized treatment program unique to their individual needs. We offer a variation of therapies and have exercise and recreational activities available on site. Clients can participate in yoga and morning meditation in front of the spectacular St. Lucie River that runs up the Treasure Coast.
All meals provided from Banyan Detox are catered by a certified chef and prepared with only the freshest and most healthy ingredients. The Banyan medical staff is available 24 hours a day, including a medical practitioner who is on site daily. Some unique programs we offer are pet therapy and religious services for those who wish to participate. Our facility is located on the St. Lucie River in Stuart, on Florida’s Southeast Treature Coast, and offers stunning views and a calming environment. Our caring and supportive staff is expertly trained and have years of experience in all areas of therapy and detox.

Catherine Manley, LMHC
Catherine Manley is the Executive Director at Banyan Treatment Pompano and Banyan Detox facilities. She earned her Master’s degree at Nova Southeastern University in Mental Health Counseling and is licensed in the State of Florida. Working in the field of substance abuse treatment, Catherine has led staff in multiple roles as Primary Therapist, Detox Supervisor, and Clinical Director. In addition to her experience in human services, Catherine received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Florida International University in 2003. She has a background in marketing, advertising and project management. Catherine brings a great balance of education, compassion, and business acumen to the Banyan family. The driving force behind her ambition is centered on helping individuals struggling with alcoholism and addiction.
Lisa Molyneaux, LCSW, ACSW
Lisa Molyneaux, LCSW, ACSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with more than 20 years of experience working with troubled youth. She has specialized in dealing with family issues, substance abuse, as well as physical, sexual and emotional abuse. She has been a Clinical Supervisor for over 10 years and also worked in a private practice. She has received praise for high standards and ethical practices when working with her clients. Ms. Molyneaux received her Bachelor of Social Work from Florida State University and furthered her education at Case Western Reserve University, where she received her Masters of Social Service Administration.
Danielle Menendez is a native of Miami and has lived in Port Saint Lucie, FL since 1997. Danielle experienced a significant loss at the young age of eight. When Danielle experienced this loss, she knew she wanted to do more. By high-school she was in Hosa (Health Occupations Students of America) program. While in the program, she worked her way into an elective course for patient care technician. From there, she moved forward earning several degrees leading her to a career path of working with individuals who have been dually diagnosed. From CNA to LPN to RN, Danielle has chosen this path all from something that happened when she was young.
She continues to strive and exceed expectations in hopes that if she can help just one person; she has done her job. Finally, Danielle has aspirations of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor
Kevin Shaffer is a former heroin and cocaine addict from Ft. Pierce Florida. When Kevin was 18 years old he lost his father in a car accident in which drugs and alcohol were involved. Kevin spent most of his 20’s in and out of multiple institutions while battling his own addiction. At the age of 28 after sleeping on the streets for 2 nights Kevin checked himself into a local detox and moved on from there into a local halfway house with nothing. He used this time to become grounded in his recovery and build an amazing support group. He spent the first year working as a day laborer and at Denny’s. After saving enough money for his driver’s license and a vehicle Kevin had an overwhelming appetite to give back to other addicts the same way that others had given back to him. He started working in the substance abuse field as a Behavioral Health Tech and was promoted to a supervisor after 90 days in the field. He now has almost 5 years clean and sober and 4 years of supervisor experience in the substance abuse field. He brings with him the unique ability to get through to
Director of Alumni Services
David picked up the tools found in the 12 step fellowship and immediately dove head first into the recovery available here in South Florida, where he worked diligently with his sponsor and completed the 12 steps while obtaining employment.
David first came to Banyan Treatment Center as a Behavioral Health Technician. After showing his dedication and firm work ethic, David was given the opportunity to take some training courses and becomes Banyan’s first Recovery Coach. After excelling in coaching, David was then promoted again to Director of Alumni Services. As the Director of Alumni Services, David reaches out to clients and keeps in contact while bringing them back for weekly alumni meetings and monthly alumni events.
Courtney Wells is a Florida Native - born and raised in Stuart, Florida. In December of 2016 she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She originally joined the Banyan Team in 2016 as a Behavioral Health Technician followed shortly by a promotion to Case Manager and Therapist at Banyan Stuart Detox and Residential. Courtney has the ability to empathize with the impact that substance abuse can have on one’s family and loved ones as she has had personal experience within her life. She loves being a part of each client’s journey to sobriety, self-love and success. Courtney will be starting her Master of Social Work Degree beginning August of 2018.
Jordyn first came to Banyan Treatment Center as a Behavioral Health Technician. After showing hard work and dedication she was promoted to Intake Coordinator, helping every patient upon admission. Jordyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Addiction Studies at Indian River State College in 2017 and is furthering her education at Nova Southeastern University to receive her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Jordyn is passionate about helping those individuals struggling with addiction and mental health disorders.
